Defrosting your windshield can be a real annoyance when you are running late for work. You are probably just turning knobs and trying to use your windshield wipers in hopes that the frost goes away quickly so you can get to work on time. The only problem with this is that it will not work. In fact, you will most likely waste a lot of time just trying to get it to work since you are probably hitting the wrong knobs and have them set to the wrong settings. You first need to start your vehicle. Obviously, if you want anything on the inside of your car to work, you need to have power going to it.
You will then want to turn on the defroster in your car. This could be a knob, a small dial, or a button on your dashboard. You should make sure that it is set to the highest amount of heat as possible, but it needs to be on a low speed. If the speed is set too high, it will actually blow out a lot of cold air which will just lengthen the process.
You will then need to wait a few minutes for the frost to start to melt on your auto glass. Once you feel that it has melted enough, you can use your windshield wipers to wipe it all away and clear it off of your auto glass.

If you are in more of a hurry, there are two things that you can do. One of them is quite easy and cheap while the other involves some work done and money. The first is very easy. All you must do is follow the first two steps stated above. Now rather than waiting in your car for the frost to clear, you can go outside and start to scrape it off with an ice scraper. The other way involves you getting a remote start installed in your car. Before you get out of your car at night, just make sure to set the defroster to on. Then in the morning you can start your car from inside of your house just a few minutes before you need to leave. By the time you get in your car, your auto glass should be frost free. You should also make sure that when there is frost on your car that you remember to defrost your back window as well.
